Save Loads of Time Scrapbooking

(Oooh, I'm so excited about this one.)

Do you scrapbook? I used to. But it was very expensive and very time consuming. First, I had to develop the photos, then buy the stuff, then build pages and then tuck them away again when the kids woke from nap or whatever. Then, write my little journal blurbs to go with the photos. Then re-write them when my 5-year old son spotted spelling errors. (Pathetic for me, but true.) And did I mention how EXPENSIVE I found it all? So, I just stopped. (Also, I realized that the photos of my beautiful children were becoming secondary to my props and I felt foolish.)

Then, I discovered photo books. They are like scrapbooking albums except that they are digitally printed right onto the papers and bound up like a hardcover book and have beautiful coloured linen covers. I LOVE 'em!!

I had made some photo books with other companies and was happy even though they were quite plain. So, I shopped around and tried PhotoWorks. The program jammed up EVERY time and on both my desktop and laptop. They kept sending me these generous coupon codes for me to finish making my book but I couldn't! The learning curve was too steep and even if I did figure it out, it kept jamming!

Then, I found Picaboo. Everything about them is AWESOME! The program with which you build the book is free for you to download and it's very easy to use. I had no problems whatsoever.
But the best part is that you can use all sorts of gorgeous scrapbooking papers for the background to your photos. They have a great selection of fonts in different colours. And their photo layout options are the best. There's one cool page that looks like you just tossed some photos on the floor and they're overlapping each other. That's probably a bad description but it's really cool!
